Partnering with Educational Institutions

Minatomiraihoncho Elementary School

Since March 2019, MM21 DHC has held an educational cooperation pact with a local public school, Minatomiraihoncho Elementary School.

We work with the school to support education for sustainable development (ESD) and education on the SDGs and the environment. Our involvement includes hosting tours of our plants for the pupils and providing visiting lectures every year, and offering corporate training for school teachers.

Institute of Science Tokyo

MM21 DHC concluded a research outsourcing agreement with the Institute of Science Tokyo in November 2024 for a project that will use the Tsubame 4.0 supercomputer to forecast local weather using microclimate simulations. Information gleaned from the project will be applied to demonstrate operational improvements to our plants for achieving further energy savings.

Yokohama National University

We collaborated with Yokohama National University’s Next Urban Lab, a facility that promotes partnering with communities, on activities aimed at making Minato Mirai 21 a carbon-neutral district.

We have also presented a lecture for the “Theory of Planning of Green Buildings and Communities” course at Yokohama National University’s Institute of Urban Innovation, and hosted a plant tour for the university’s students.
