Supporting the Community

We maintain an emergency stockpile of retort and canned food for disasters. When this food nears its best-before date, we donate it to Food Bank Kanagawa for distribution to those in need. This also helps to reduce food loss. 

MM21 DHC participates in Minato Mirai 21 Sakura Festa, a festival held every spring in the environs of a nearby train station, JR Sakuragicho Station. Our employees take part in tug-of-war matches, and we light up our plant’s ice storage tanks for the duration of the festival.

In 2024, the tanks were illuminated in blue to celebrate the Japan Series victory of the local professional baseball team, Yokohama DeNA BayStars.

We take part in “Bottle to Bottle,” a project that promotes closed-loop recycling of plastic bottles. Led by Yokohama Minato Mirai 21, the area management organization for the Minato Mirai 21 District, the project aims to recycle resources and reduce the area’s carbon footprint.
